These terms apply when you use CVLift, operated by [registered business name], [registration number], [physical address], South Africa ("CVLift", "we", "us"). By uploading a CV or making a payment you agree to them.
1. The service
CVLift is a professional CV improvement tool. It rewrites and edits the CV you upload according to the upgrade you choose (Basic, Professional or Executive) and produces a PDF. Professional and Executive upgrades are set in the design you select. Basic upgrades of Word files keep your own document layout and improve only the wording; Basic PDF and text uploads are set in our Classic design. You can view a partial, watermarked preview before paying, and on Professional and Executive upgrades switch between the designs included with your upgrade.
2. Your content and responsibilities
- You must have the right to upload the CV, and it should be about you (or you must have the person's permission).
- You remain the owner of your CV and of the upgraded version we produce for you.
- CVLift is designed to keep your facts unchanged, but rewriting can occasionally misread or misstate something. You are responsible for checking the final CV is accurate before you use it, and for replacing any
[add metric]placeholders with true information. - Don't upload unlawful content or use the service to misrepresent your qualifications or experience.
3. No guarantee of outcome
A better CV can improve how your experience comes across, but we can't guarantee interviews, job offers or how any employer or applicant tracking system will assess your application.
4. Prices and payment
Prices are shown in South African rand on our website and are once-off; there is no subscription. The price of your order is fixed when you upload your CV. Payment is processed by our payment partners (PayFast or Yoco, depending on the option offered at checkout), and their terms also apply to your payment. Your order is only marked as paid once the payment partner confirms the payment to us. We never see or store your card details.
5. Delivery
- Instant digital download. Your CV is delivered as a PDF download on your order page as soon as your payment is confirmed. Nothing is posted to you.
- How long it's available. Your download link works for as long as your order is retained, which is 7 days from when you created it. You can download as many times as you like in that period, in the browser you used to place the order.
- Design changes. On Professional and Executive upgrades you can switch your CV to any design included with your upgrade at no extra cost while your order is retained, before and after paying. The Executive design is included with the Executive upgrade only. Your download uses the design you chose last. Basic upgrades keep your own Word layout, or use our Classic design for PDF and text uploads, and don't include design changes.
- Please save a copy of your PDF. After the retention period your files are deleted and can't be recovered.
6. Refunds and cancellation
Because you can see a partial preview of your upgraded CV before paying and the product is delivered digitally and immediately, we don't generally offer refunds for a change of mind. If something goes wrong, for example you were charged but couldn't download your CV, you were charged twice, or the file is damaged, we will fix it or refund you. The details are in our refund policy. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, 2002 where they apply.
7. Availability
We aim to keep CVLift available and working, but we may need to pause it for maintenance or because of problems outside our control.
8. Liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim related to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
9. Privacy
How we handle your personal information is explained in our privacy policy.
10. General
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. We may update them from time to time; the version in force when you place an order applies to that order. Questions? Send us a support request and we'll reply by email.
